Here we are, in the best fed nation on the planet, and we’re not getting enough nutrients…
Isn’t that crazy!?
I remember when I first started really getting into healthy eating.
I was in my mid-20s and I did NOT want to give up my convenient eating habits!
So I came up with every excuse in the book to slow down the change.
The biggest (and I thought, most clever) excuse I had was the PRICE.
I mean, eating healthy is so expensive…
That old standby excuse seemed like an instant winner.
But I finally did the right thing and made some changes I knew I needed to make. I have learned how to eat healthy on a budget! And within a few weeks I was feeling a MAJOR difference in my body and loosing weight! All while saving money! That’s a double win!
At first it was uncomfortable not eating out as much or having my favorite junk food snacks readily available…
But it was so worth it.
Today I’m in my thirties and we’re blessed with great health in our entire family. I believe a lot of that has to do with the choices we’ve made the past 9 years.
I am extremely passionate about eating healthy because I was once 50 pounds overweight!
I have taught myself to eat healthy while still keeping my family of seven fed for $120 a week.
WHOA! How is that possible?!
It’s not as hard as you think! If you start with these principles, you’ll be amazed at how easy it actually is.
To get started:
Ditch the prepackaged foods. Buy real! Fruits and vegetables are much healthier snacks PLUS they are cheap if you buy seasonal.
Choose to COOK. Eating out is one of the ways people start burning through cash FAST. Because not only are you buying the food, you’re paying someone to make it and serve it to you.
SET A BUDGET. This is the most important step. If you set a budget and REFUSE to go over you’ll be amazed at the creativity you’ll find within yourself.
Remember, even if it feels cheaper and easier to keep eating junk food we WILL eventually pay more for it as our bodies deteriorate from all the malnutrition.
And those healthcare bills don’t come cheap…
